(Summary description)Acrylic lenses are actually the general term for PMMA material plates after electroplating. Acrylic lenses, with a base material of PMMA, are also known as pressure added lenses by people in Hong Kong and Taiwan Province. Actually, they all refer to the general term for PMMA boards after electroplating. Replacing glass lenses with plastic lenses has the advantages of light weight, easy breakage, convenient molding and processing, and easy coloring. And its development momentum is increasing day by day, and it has become a technology in lens production. Plastic sheets can generally be made into: single-sided mirrors, double-sided mirrors, adhesive mirrors, paper mirrors, semi lenses, etc., which can be made according to different requirements. The screens of mobile phones and televisions are commonly seen in daily life.
Characteristics of acrylic lenses:
Acrylic lenses are suitable for secondary processing, such as mechanical processing, thermoplastic forming, blow molding, vacuum molding, solvent bonding, thermal printing, screen printing, and vacuum electroplating. After successful completion, they are called acrylic lenses.
Acrylic board is polymerized from methyl methacrylate monomer (MMA) and is a specially processed organic glass. Known as the "queen of plastic". The research and development of acrylic has a history of over a hundred years.
The purpose of acrylic lenses:
Acrylic has the advantages of light weight, low price, and easy molding. Its molding methods include casting, injection molding, mechanical processing, acrylic hot forming, etc. Especially injection molding can produce in large quantities, with simple processes and low costs. Therefore, its application is becoming increasingly widespread, and it has been widely used in fields such as instrument components, automotive lighting, optical lenses, transparent pipes, and so on.
Acrylic is a new material that can be used to make sanitary cleansers after ceramics. Compared with traditional ceramic materials, acrylic not only has high brightness, but also has the following advantages: good toughness and not easy to break. It has strong reducibility. As long as you dip toothpaste on the soft foam, you can wipe new facial cleanser. The texture is soft and there is no biting cold feeling in winter. Bright colors can meet the individual pursuits of different tastes. Using acrylic as a sink, bathtub, and toilet has a well-designed, durable, and environmentally friendly effect, and its radiation level is similar to that of the human body's own bones.
Process characteristics of acrylic lenses:
1. Containing polar side methyl groups, it has obvious moisture absorption, and the water absorption rate is usually 0.3% -0.4%. Before forming, the acrylic board must be dried under the drying conditions of 80 ℃ -85 ℃ for 4-5 hours.
2. The molding process is effective within the temperature range, and has obvious non-Newtonian fluid characteristics. The melt viscosity decreases significantly with the increase of shear rate, and the melt viscosity is sensitive to temperature changes. Therefore, for the molding process of polymethyl methacrylate, increasing the molding pressure and temperature will significantly reduce the melt viscosity, thereby improving flowability.
3. Due to its high viscosity and fast cooling speed, the product is prone to internal stress. Therefore, strict control of process conditions is required during molding, and post processing is also required after the product is formed.
